Subtle Plane

Affiliate Disclosure

Effective date: 8 October 2026

This site carries paid links. This page explains exactly what that means, where those links are, and what the money does and does not change.

The arrangement, in one paragraph

Subtle Plane is published by EnergoAlliance s.r.o. Some pages of the course link to the website of Crossout, the game used as the running example throughout. Those links are affiliate links. If you follow one and go on to create an account, confirm your email address and log in to the game, the affiliate network that operates the link pays EnergoAlliance s.r.o. a commission. That commission is what pays for writing and hosting this site.

What it costs you

Nothing. The commission is paid by the network out of the vendor's marketing budget, not added to anything you pay. You reach the same vendor pages on the same terms as a reader who typed the address in directly.

Where the links appear

There are three of them, and they are all in the course itself:

  • Step 1, after the description of the example game, so that you can compare the vendor's own words with ours.
  • Step 3, beside the discussion of sign-up and privacy policies, where you might want to read the vendor's.
  • Step 5, at the point where you are weighing up whether to continue.

Every one of them is written as “Visit the Crossout website”, is marked as a paid affiliate link in a line of ordinary body text directly beneath it, and opens in a new tab. The address in the link is the real destination: nothing is hidden behind a redirect on our own domain, and nothing is rewritten when you click. You can read where a link goes by hovering over it, the same as anywhere else.

No affiliate link appears on the homepage, the checklists, the About page, the Contact page or any legal page, and there is no banner advertising or sponsored section anywhere on this site.

What the commission does not decide

It does not decide what the course says. The five steps were written as a sequence about the category, and the checklists existed before any link was placed. Nothing in a step was added, softened or removed to make a sign-up more likely.

You can check this against the text itself. Step 2 tells you to stop rather than install if your computer falls below the published minimum, Step 4 tells you to set a ceiling in dollars, and Step 5 devotes a section to leaving and deleting the account. None of that is what a page written to maximise commission would say.

What does decide it

Three things. First, the sequence a beginner actually needs, which is why the platform question comes second and money comes fourth. Second, what can be sourced: claims about Australian rules point to the body responsible, and claims about a product come only from what its vendor publishes. Third, whether the reader can act on it without us — every step ends in a checklist you complete away from the screen, and the whole course can be finished without following a single link or spending a cent.

The method, the sources and the review schedule are set out on the About page, which also states this commercial relationship plainly.

Why one product, and why this one

Advice about “a game” in the abstract is hard to act on, so the course follows a single real title through all five steps. It belongs to a category where the generic lessons are all visible: distributed free to play, an account and an email confirmation required, some desktop operating systems supported and not others, and in-game currencies in use.

We do not claim it is the best game of its kind. We have not tested it against competitors, we publish no scores or benchmarks, and we offer no view on whether you will enjoy it. What we offer is a method for deciding that yourself.

What we receive from the network

Commission reports, used only to reconcile payments. We do not receive anything identifying an individual reader, and we do not seek it. Our Privacy Policy covers this, and our Cookie Policy explains that this site sets no cookies at all — though the vendor and the network may set their own on their own sites once you leave here.

Trademarks

All brand names on Subtle Plane, Crossout among them, are the property of their owners. Except for the paid affiliate links described on our funding page, none of those owners is affiliated with Subtle Plane, and none has endorsed or sponsored it.
