Privacy Policy

This policy explains what happens to personal information in connection with the website at subtleplane.online. The site is published by EnergoAlliance s.r.o., Poštovská 68/3, Brno-město, 602 00 Brno, Czech Republic, company registration 28388933, VAT number CZ28388933, contactable at info@subtleplane.online. EnergoAlliance s.r.o. decides what happens to the information described below.
Personal information in connection with this site is handled in line with the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth) and the Australian Privacy Principles, which the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner publishes at oaic.gov.au/privacy/australian-privacy-principles. Because the principles are the clearest available structure for a document like this, the policy walks through all thirteen of them in order and says what each one means here. Where a principle has little application to a site with no accounts and no forms, that is stated rather than disguised.
This policy covers subtleplane.online and nothing else. It does not cover any website you reach by following a link from here, including the websites of game vendors and the affiliate network that operates our paid links. Those sites are run by other organisations under their own policies, and you should read them there.
APP 1 — Open and transparent management of personal information
This document is the policy required by the first principle, it is linked from the footer of every page on the site, and it is free to read without identifying yourself. The entity responsible is EnergoAlliance s.r.o., named above with its full address, registration number and VAT number. Questions about it go to info@subtleplane.online.
APP 2 — Anonymity and pseudonymity
Reading this site requires no identification of any kind. There is no sign-up, no account and no form, so there is no point at which you are asked who you are. If you write to us, you may use a pseudonymous email address and we will answer it. The single exception is a request for access to, or correction of, information we hold: we cannot sensibly act on that without being able to connect the request to the information it concerns.
APP 3 — Collection of solicited personal information
Two categories of information exist, and there is no third.
Server access logs. Our hosting provider records ordinary web server logs for each request to the site. A log entry contains the IP address the request came from, the date and time, the URL requested, the referring page if your browser sends one, and the user-agent string identifying your browser and operating system.
The content of emails. If you write to info@subtleplane.online, we hold your email address, any name you choose to give, the message itself and any attachment you send.
Nothing else is collected. There is no contact form, no newsletter, no sign-up, no account, no progress tracking, no quiz, no comment box and no live chat anywhere on this site. We set no cookies and use no analytics, advertising tags, profiling or cross-site tracking. We load no web fonts, no scripts and no images from anyone else: the pages request nothing from any other server, so no third party learns that you visited.
APP 4 — Dealing with unsolicited personal information
Sometimes an email contains personal information we did not ask for and do not need in order to reply — details about other people, documents attached for context, or more about your circumstances than the question required. Where it is lawful and reasonable to do so, we delete that material rather than keep it.
APP 5 — Notification of collection
This policy is the notification. The logs are described in APP 3 above, together with their purpose and retention; the handling of email is described in the same place. Nothing is collected by means that are not visible on this page.
APP 6 — Use and disclosure
Each category is used only for its stated purpose. Access logs are used to keep the site running securely, to deal with abuse such as automated attacks, and to diagnose faults. Email is used to answer your message and, where relevant, to keep a record of what was agreed.
We do not sell, rent, trade or share personal information for marketing, and we do not disclose it to anyone for any purpose other than those described here. Information would be disclosed to an authority only where the law requires it or a court orders it.
APP 7 — Direct marketing
We do not carry out direct marketing. There is no mailing list, no newsletter and no promotional email. We do not send reminders to finish the course, because we do not know who is reading it and we keep no record of who has read what.
APP 8 — Cross-border disclosure
Two service providers are involved in running this site: our hosting provider, which serves the pages and keeps the access logs, and our email service provider, which carries messages to and from info@subtleplane.online. They are the only recipients of the information described in this policy.
Both may store or process data on servers located outside Australia, including in countries whose privacy laws differ from Australian law. We are not naming a specific country here because doing so accurately would require us to state something we cannot keep reliably current. If you would like to know where information relating to you is held at a given time, ask us and we will tell you what we know.
APP 9 — Government related identifiers
This principle has no application here. We do not adopt, use or disclose any government related identifier. We never ask for a tax file number, Medicare number, driver licence number, passport number or any similar identifier, and there is nowhere on this site where one could be entered.
APP 10 — Quality of personal information
The information held is limited and comes directly from you or from your browser, so there is little scope for it to be inaccurate. If something we hold about you is wrong, write to us and we will correct it.
APP 11 — Security of personal information
The site is served over HTTPS, so traffic between your browser and the server is encrypted in transit. There is no database behind the site and no stored submissions, because nothing can be submitted. The hosting account and the mailbox are reachable only by people working for EnergoAlliance s.r.o., using individual credentials.
We make no claim to hold any security certification or to comply with any particular standard, because we hold none and claiming otherwise would be untrue. Information that is no longer needed is deleted on the schedule set out below.
APP 12 — Access to personal information
You may ask what personal information we hold about you. Write to info@subtleplane.online with Privacy request in the subject line. There is no charge for making a request, and we reply within 30 days. In practice the answer for most people is the contents of an email exchange, and for readers who have never written to us there is usually nothing identifiable to produce at all, since log entries are short-lived and are not indexed by person.
APP 13 — Correction of personal information
You may ask us to correct information we hold about you, using the same address and subject line. We reply within 30 days. If we disagree that a correction is needed, we will say so and explain why, and you may ask us to attach a statement to that effect.
How long information is kept
Server access logs are kept for 30 days and then deleted. Email is kept for 24 months after the last message in the conversation, and then deleted, unless it is needed for the establishment, exercise or defence of a legal claim, in which case it is kept until that matter is finished.
Affiliate links
Some pages carry paid affiliate links to a game vendor's website. Following one takes you off subtleplane.online. From that point, the vendor and the affiliate network that operates the link may use cookies or similar technology on their own sites to record that the visit came from here, under their own privacy policies rather than this one.
EnergoAlliance s.r.o. receives commission reports from the network. Those reports are used only to reconcile payments. We do not seek, and have no interest in obtaining, information that would identify an individual reader, and we make no attempt to connect a commission report to any person.
Complaints
If you think your privacy has been mishandled, write to info@subtleplane.online first. We answer complaints within 30 days. If you are not satisfied with the response, you can complain to the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner, which explains the process at oaic.gov.au/privacy/privacy-complaints.
Data breaches
If we become aware of unauthorised access to, or loss of, personal information, we assess what has happened promptly. Where the breach is likely to result in serious harm, we notify the people affected and the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner in line with the Notifiable Data Breaches scheme.
Children
This site is not directed at people under 16. The course is written for adults, including adults setting something up alongside a teenager. We do not knowingly collect information that would identify a child, and since there is no form, account or sign-up anywhere on the site, there is no mechanism by which a child could provide one to us.
Readers in the European Union and the United Kingdom
EnergoAlliance s.r.o. is established in the Czech Republic, so the General Data Protection Regulation also applies to its handling of personal data.
The legal basis for keeping server access logs is our legitimate interest in operating the site securely and diagnosing faults. The legal basis for handling email is our legitimate interest in responding to the enquiry you have sent us. We do not rely on consent for anything, because there are no cookies, no tracking and no marketing to consent to.
Where the Regulation applies, you have the rights of access, rectification, erasure, restriction of processing, data portability and objection, and you may exercise them by writing to info@subtleplane.online. You also have the right to complain to a supervisory authority. Ours is the Office for Personal Data Protection (Úřad pro ochranu osobních údajů), Pplk. Sochora 27, 170 00 Prague 7, Czech Republic, uoou.gov.cz.
Changes to this policy
When this policy is revised, the effective date at the top is updated. Where a change is material, a short note saying so is shown at the top of this page for 30 days after the change takes effect.
